I F*cking Love Lists

I thrive on making lists. Ever since going through chemotherapy, I’ve struggled with memory and focus, which is why I often find myself playing brain games on my phone during idle moments. It helps keep my mind engaged. When that’s not possible, I rely on lists.

Lists are more than just a tool for remembering tasks—they also provide a satisfying sense of accomplishment when I check things off. Sometimes, I’ll even create a list just to have the pleasure of crossing items off. Try it yourself: break down a task into smaller steps and then relish the satisfaction of ticking them off. I do this regularly with household chores because it’s one way to make those tasks feel more rewarding. Planning a trip? Make a list not just for packing, but also for things to do. It’s a great way to make the most of your time without constantly wondering what to do next.

I’m a huge fan of seasonal bucket lists too. I’ve already started on my spring and summer bucket lists, and I’m excited about our spring break mini-vacay and summer vacation plans. It’s become a bit of an obsession!

One app that’s been a game-changer for me is AnyList. I stumbled upon it while searching for a good list app, and it’s fantastic. You can create multiple lists and even organize them into folders. Customizing icons and colors for each list makes it easy to stay organized. I use it for everything—from my daily To-Do list and grocery shopping to long-term vacation planning and Disney park activities. The app also offers recipe and shopping list integration if you subscribe (about $10 or $15 a year, depending on individual or family plans). Sharing lists with Hubs is a breeze, allowing us to coordinate grocery trips or add items so nothing gets forgotten. Plus, you can access your lists via a web browser, which is great for typing up longer entries.

So, are you as obsessed with lists as I am?
