Chub Rub + Disney World = Chafing

I see this question posted in Walt Disney World groups a lot:

What do you wear in the parks to prevent chafing?

Great question! I found myself asking the same thing while prepping for my Disney trip. If you’ve ever struggled with chafing, you know the struggle. If not, consider yourself lucky! To tackle this issue, I invested in two key items, and they worked wonders.

First up, I bought bike shorts. Initially, I was a bit self-conscious about wearing them, but their comfort quickly won me over. Not only are they incredibly soft and stay in place without rolling or sliding, but they also come with spacious pockets perfect for holding your phone. And the best part? They’re surprisingly affordable—under $20 for two pairs! I ended up buying four pairs, and I don’t regret it one bit.

Next on my list was Body Glide. I didn’t use it on the first day, thinking the bike shorts would be sufficient on their own. While the shorts did a great job, I found that the very upper parts of my thighs—above where the shorts ended—still rubbed together. That’s where Body Glide came to the rescue. Applying the stick in those areas worked like a charm. After a full day of walking and exploring the parks, it was the most comfortable I’d felt.

I definitely didn’t want to leave out the guys. My husband also deals with chub rub, so I searched for comfy solutions for him as well. I picked up boxer briefs with a chafe-free pouch and his own anti-chafing stick.

The boxer briefs are from Warriors & Scholars. While they cost a bit more, they are absolutely worth it. He’s always preferred boxers, but chub rub has been a major issue with his previous pairs. These new ones have held up incredibly well for months without showing any signs of wear. He swears they’re the most comfortable underwear he’s ever worn, so I made sure to get him some more for Christmas.

The anti-chafing stick I got him is just like the Body Glide I got for myself, but it’s made by Gold Bond. He applied it where he needed to every day and he didn’t chafe at all.

These products were a complete success for us, and I highly recommend them for your anti-chafing needs.
