Throughout the summer, our neighborhood hosts Food Truck Fridays, a highlight of the week. After a long day from a camp field trip, and knowing Hubs’ love for gyros, I decided to order from that week’s featured truck: The Pita Stroller.
We tried the falafel and hummus. While I found the falafel a bit on the salty side, I could appreciate the rich flavors beneath it, and the hummus was quite tasty. Hubs opted for a lamb gyro and thoroughly enjoyed it, while I had the chicken gyro bowl, which was also very satisfying.
One pleasant surprise was the kid-friendly options on The Pita Stroller’s menu. It’s not often that food trucks cater to children, but this one did! My pickiest eater enjoyed a corndog from home along with fries we ordered, but Boy1 tried the kid’s chicken and rice bowl. He liked it, although the seasoning might have been a bit much for his taste. While he’s generally adventurous, he prefers milder flavors and isn’t a fan of spicy heat.
Overall, Hubs and I would definitely consider ordering from The Pita Stroller again, though next time, we might opt for different choices for the boys.
