The boys had a great time learning the names of their second grade teachers at the Facts and Fees event! For Boy1, it felt a bit like a comeback tour. He eagerly darted from one familiar face to another, sharing his trademark hugs with everyone he met. Both boys were thrilled to be back in the school building, even if just for a short visit.

Reflecting on my own school days, our “Meet the Teacher” night was known as “Back to School Night.” I remember the excitement of meeting my new teacher, reconnecting with classmates, and seeing who would be in my class for the year.

Our back-to-school adventure concluded with the Meet the Teacher event, where Boy1 and Boy2 had the chance to meet their new teachers and get a glimpse of what the school year would bring. They were also delighted to spot some familiar faces in their new classrooms.

However, our back-to-school preparations didn’t go entirely as planned. Tropical Storm Debbie made quite an entrance, delaying both Meet the Teacher and the first day of school by several days. I joked that my enthusiasm for the new school year was so strong it had to be postponed! Despite the stormy interruption, it was definitely an unforgettable way to wrap up summer and kick off the school year.
