
As summer starts to wind down and the first hints of fall begin to sneak onto the store shelves, it’s the perfect moment to take a deep breath and reflect on the season that was. If you had a summer bucket list—one filled with ambitions of adventure, relaxation, and everything in between—now is the time to review and celebrate the highlights, as well as ponder the lessons learned. Whether you crossed off every item or found joy in the unexpected, this post is all about taking stock of our summer escapades.
- Go to the beach
Go swimming(We spent countless hours in the pool on vacation at Animal Kingdom Lodge, Orange Lake Resort, and grandma and grandpa’s house!)Go to a splash pad(We had two camp days spent at the splash pads at Ashley River Park and Wannamaker Park).- Go to a water park
- Do a summer scavenger hunt
Make a summer craft(Many a summer craft was made at camp this year!)- Make popsicles
- Write your name in the sand
Have a water gun fight(The boys did this at summer camp!)- Have a watermelon seed spitting contest
Watch fireworks(We drove around looking at fireworks on the Fourth of July, and had a little firework fun ourselves with sparklers.)- Make lemonade
- Make a red, white, and blue dessert
- Build a sandcastle
- Make root beer floats

lay beach ball volleyball(We played this in the pool in Orange Lake and at grandma and grandpa’s house.) Take summer pictures(Soooo many pictures!)- Play kickball
- Read a book by the pool
Celebrate Christmas in July(The boys did this at camp!)Watch a thunderstorm(So many summer storms.)- Play miniature golf
- Pick berries
- Barbecue dinner
- Go fishing
- Have an ice cream tasting
- Play water balloon baseball
- Dance in the rain
Go on a road trip(To Florida and to Virginia!)
Not too shabby, and plenty more for us to do before the autumn chill hits the air.
