The holiday season truly is my most wonderful time of the year. When we’re all piled onto the living room couch watching a Christmas movie, or driving around town to admire the decorations, I love seeing the warm glow of the lights reflecting off the boys’ faces. Their wonder and laughter feel absolutely magical—like time slows down just for us.
I often wish I could bottle that feeling… that spark of Christmas wonder I see in their eyes. And while I can’t quite do that, I can bottle other things.
This year, I’m doing something I haven’t done in ages: making homemade gifts. I used to bake cookies every Christmas, and I’ve thought about doing it again, but with our holiday travel plans I’m not sure it’s realistic. The jury is still out on that one. In the meantime, I stumbled across some blogs with some do-it-yourself recipes, and I suddenly felt inspired to make something—actually, several somethings, because that’s just how these things go.

(excuse the crumbs)

Gift-giving has always been my love language. It fills me up in a way nothing else does. Finding those blogs (blogs and recipes linked below) sparked the burst of energy I didn’t even know I was missing this season.
Now that everything—decorations, gifts, and the magic in the air—has finally come together, I feel so ready.
How about you? Are you ready for the holidays? Any homemade favorites?
