A highlight of our Orange Lake vacations is always a visit to Joe’s Crab Shack. As part of the Landry’s family of restaurants, it’s a great spot for us to make the most of our Landry’s Select Club membership, earning points and redeeming rewards while indulging in some delicious seafood.

Hubs and I indulged in the steampots, each brimming with a bounty of crabs. The boys had their own meals: Boy1 opted for a kid’s size steampot, while Boy2 enjoyed a serving of crispy popcorn shrimp. The boys were thrilled with their choices, but the effort required to crack open all of Boy1’s crab legs did delay our own enjoyment a bit. It’s worth noting for future visits, but seeing Boy1 savor his meal like a grown-up made it all worthwhile!

For dessert, the boys chose the “decorate a crab” treat. They had a blast using strawberry sauce, caramel, and chocolate sauce to create their own designs on a crab-shaped Rice Krispies Treat. It was a fun and interactive way to end the meal, and they enjoyed every bite.

If your kids are fans of seafood, Joe’s Crab Shack is a must-visit. The menu also features some great turf options like cheeseburgers, chicken tenders, and mac and cheese, ensuring there’s something for everyone.

To top off our dining experience, our server surprised the kids with a glowing souvenir glass that flashed in various colors. The boys were enchanted and used it throughout the rest of the trip. And as an extra treat, the restaurant was hosting trivia night during our visit, adding an entertaining twist to our meal. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience that added a bit of extra fun to our vacation!
