This month, we’re returning to our favorite Disney resort—Animal Kingdom Lodge—and we couldn’t be more excited. The resort’s beautiful African-inspired architecture, incredible animal views, and peaceful atmosphere always make it feel like a home away from home. We’re especially looking forward to our stay because we’ll be meeting up with family, making it the perfect blend of relaxation, fun, and adventure.

We’ve got a fun, yet casual, itinerary planned, with a little something for everyone in the family. Of course, we’ll be visiting all four Disney theme parks, and I’m thrilled to experience each one with my loved ones, old and new. But what really has us counting down the days is that we’ve planned a special VIP tour. With a private guide, we’ll be able to see and experience even more magic with a personalized itinerary. And who doesn’t love having a behind-the-scenes peek at the magic?

We’re especially grateful this year because Boy2 has been approved for the Disability Access Service (DAS) pass. This is such a huge help in making sure that his challenges don’t hinder our ability to enjoy the parks together. The DAS pass offers a more flexible way to experience the attractions, which gives us peace of mind while navigating long lines. Disney’s commitment to inclusivity is something we truly appreciate, and this will make the trip even more enjoyable for all of us.

One of the highlights of this trip will be our visit to EPCOT during the Flower and Garden Festival—an event we’ve never experienced before. With all the beautiful topiaries, vibrant flower displays, and special garden-themed food and drinks, I can already imagine how stunning it’s going to be. I’ve heard the festival’s atmosphere is incredible, and I’m excited to stroll through the park, taking in the sights and smells of spring. I’m especially looking forward to the seasonal dishes and beverages that are exclusive to the festival. It’s the perfect time of year to visit EPCOT, and I know it’s going to be an unforgettable experience.

Of course, no trip to Disney is complete without experiencing the iconic transportation systems that make getting around part of the fun. The monorail, Skyliner, and PeopleMover are all on our must-do list. There’s just something magical about gliding above the parks and getting a bird’s-eye view of the entire resort. I can’t wait to hop aboard the monorail, taking in the sights of the Magic Kingdom, and then heading over to EPCOT for a scenic Skyliner ride. And the PeopleMover in Tomorrowland? It’s a classic! These rides may not be thrilling in the traditional sense, but they’re iconic Disney experiences that bring so much joy.

Whether we’re dining at our favorite spots (Boma, anyone??), enjoying the sights and sounds of the parks, or simply relaxing at Animal Kingdom Lodge, this trip is shaping up to be a truly special one. Disney has a way of making every moment feel magical, and with family by our side and a VIP tour to add some extra sparkle, I’m confident this will be a trip we’ll cherish forever.

I’m so excited to share this adventure with you all, and I can’t wait to take you along with me on this magical journey through the parks! Stay tuned for updates, tips, and maybe even a few photos of the magical moments we encounter along the way.

Until then, here’s to Disney magic and unforgettable memories! ✨

We also recently went to Disney World with a young child using Disney’s disability services. We were treated like royalty, and I want to shout it from the rooftops. I hope you have a magical trip!
