I wrote another post about how I’ve gotten my picky eater to try new foods with the Universal Yums subscription—huge win for a kiddo who definitely eats with his eyes. Another subscription box that’s been a success for our family is Appy Hour.

What started as a way for Hubs and me to have an at-home date night quickly turned into something the boys were just as excited about. The meats and cheeses immediately sparked their interest—and honestly, that alone felt like a parenting victory.
Our boxes have included delicious berry jams, mustards, nuts, crisp crackers, crunchy breads, dried fruits, and more. The meats have featured options like prosciutto, soppressata, finocchiona, and capocollo. We’ve also explored new cheeses like assorted cheddars, goat cheeses, sottocenere al tartufo, toma provence, and even everything bagel cheese curds.
We love the outside-of-the-box variety. These aren’t items we would typically grab for snacks, and I really appreciate how this subscription gently pushes all of us—kids included—out of our comfort zones. Our delivery is set to every six weeks, but there are flexible options to fit different schedules.
What’s one food your picky eater surprised you by actually loving—and how did you introduce it?
